Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, inspected units undergoing specialized training yesterday to assess training implementation and the progress of participating service members. He encouraged the trainees to make the most of opportunities for exchange and turn what they had learned into practical combat capabilities. Commander Cheng said that safety must be the foundation of every training activity. Combat skills and tactical training should proceed step by step, drawing on the combat experience of allied partners and exchanges with friendly forces to refine tactical applications and ensure that training results translate effectively into operational capabilities. He also reminded unit leaders to monitor personnel’s physical and mental well-being and, as the seasons change, to ensure that troops stay warm, maintain healthy daily routines, and drive safely while on leave.
Finally, Commander Cheng encouraged trainees to serve as instructor cadres after completing the program, passing on what they had learned through expanded training at frontline units to improve defensive combat capabilities. He further stressed that all service members, whether still on active duty or retired, must strictly observe confidentiality requirements and communications and information security discipline. They should remain vigilant about protecting confidential information and exercise self-discipline even when unobserved, thereby safeguarding the integrity of their units and the successful execution of their missions while continuing to strengthen the Military Police’s defensive combat capabilities.
