Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, recently presided over the “July Combat Training and Preparation Meeting.” Attendees included senior military officers, chiefs of divisions (section chiefs), commanders of first-level units and battalions (units), discussing recent preparations for military exercises and training. During the meeting, the operations management unit delivered a presentation titled “Introduction to AI Tools and Practical Applications,” sharing how AI facilitates information collection, data analysis, and administrative tasks. The presentation aimed to help officers at all levels leverage technology to enhance efficiency while ensuring compliance with information security and confidentiality regulations.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that in preparation for the upcoming “Han Kuang 42 Exercise”—a 10-day, 9-night live-fire drill—all levels must adhere to the principle of “training with enemy information in mind,” combining live-fire exercises to validate training outcomes and using these results to refine tactics, strategies, and battle readiness measures. Additionally, participants were reminded to properly utilize emerging technologies to support training and mission planning while balancing information security protection and risk management to enhance the overall combat effectiveness of the forces. At the same time, all units must cooperate with cybersecurity audits conducted by the Ministry of National Defense and national security agencies to strengthen the security of facilities and equipment as well as their self-inspection capabilities. Officers and soldiers are required to ensure proper de-identification when using personal social media platforms to avoid being manipulated by malicious individuals.
Commander Cheng encouraged officers at all levels to translate the consensus reached at the meeting into specific actions, performing their core duties of combat training with a pragmatic attitude, refining their leadership and professional competencies, and leading their units to demonstrate optimal combat readiness during military exercises, thereby firmly defending national security and achieving the goal of “multi-domain deterrence and resilient defense.”
