To strengthen medical support capacity within the garrison area, the Military Police Command yesterday invited Lieutenant General Chen, Director of the Ministry of National Defense Medical Affairs Bureau, along with key officials from Tri-Service General Hospital and its Songshan, Beitou, and Keelung branches, to participate in discussions. The participants exchanged views on medical capacity, medical support, and wartime casualty evacuation and response. Through close coordination and integration between the garrison forces and the military medical system, the meeting sought to enhance overall medical resilience and ensure the successful execution of all missions.
Director Chen stated that, given the complex and rapidly changing wartime operating environment, medical support must be closely aligned with operational requirements, and all preparatory and contingency measures must be meticulously planned. The Medical Affairs Bureau will continue to integrate the medical resources of Tri-Service General Hospital and its affiliated branches. Based on the operational requirements of the garrison area, the Bureau will coordinate the provision of medical support, casualty care, medical materiel readiness, and related professional medical assistance to ensure the continuity and effective operation of the medical support system during combat operations.
Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, stated that the Military Police bear the critical responsibility of defending the nation's central government. In addition to enhancing unit combat readiness, the Military Police must remain closely integrated with the medical support system and make full use of regional medical coordination mechanisms to ensure that personnel receive timely and appropriate medical care at every stage of a mission. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Medical Affairs Bureau and Tri-Service General Hospital for their longstanding support and assistance to the Military Police. Looking ahead, both sides will continue to deepen their cooperation, strengthen lateral communication and support coordination mechanisms, and jointly reinforce the overall defense resilience of the garrison area.
