Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, recently hosted the “2026 Road Safety and Defensive Driving” education briefing. Professor Chang Wen-Sung of Central Police University was invited to deliver a special lecture, providing incisive explanations of key topics including road safety, defensive driving principles, and common traffic accident patterns. The lecture was met with an enthusiastic response.
During the course, Professor Chang combined an engaging presentation with real-world cases to analyze patterns of traffic violations and the causes of accidents. Topics included “Intersection Safety,” “Apportionment of Liability for Accidents,” and “Maintain a Safe Following Distance and Do Not Speed.” He also highlighted key road safety regulations, helping personnel embrace the principle that “Safety Is the Only Way Home” and reduce the risk of traffic accidents.
Commander Cheng stated that Professor Chang has worked in the field of accident investigation and assessment for more than a decade, accumulating extensive expertise and professional insight. He thanked Professor Chang for his in-depth case analyses and for sharing his wealth of practical experience. Commander Cheng expressed the hope that stronger awareness of legal compliance and defensive driving would enhance personnel's ability to prevent hazards, deepen their understanding of traffic safety and the importance of protecting their rights and interests following an accident, and together help safeguard their lives and property.
