Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, accompanied by Major General Wu, Director of Political Warfare, met with officers approaching retirement yesterday and presented them with individual certificates of honor. The certificates recognized their conscientious performance of duty and dedicated efforts to accomplish every assigned mission. Commander Cheng also wished them success as they begin a new chapter following their honorable retirement. Commander Cheng stated that Deputy Commander Major General Yu's military career of more than three decades embodies the Military Police's legacy of growth and talent development. He thanked Major General Yu for supporting force development and combat readiness throughout his service and for generously passing on his experience, thereby laying a solid foundation for the Military Police. Commander Cheng expressed the hope that, after taking off his uniform, Major General Yu would continue to uphold the steadfast spirit of “Once a Military Policeman, Always a Military Policeman” and offer the Military Police valuable advice.
In addition, the Military Police Command assigned personnel to provide a detailed explanation of veterans' rights and benefits. The retiring officers were also reminded that, as they transition to new career paths, they must continue to observe confidentiality requirements to safeguard classified national information. Finally, amid heartfelt applause and laughter, the attending officers reflected on the many years they had spent carrying out missions side by side. The warm yet dignified occasion brought a fitting close to their years of shared service and conveyed the sincerest wishes for their new journey in life.
