Commander Hosts Mother’s Day Event and Expresses Gratitude for Selfless Dedication

Reported by Yeh Hsuan-yu / Comprehensive Report

With the arrival of May, a month associated with gratitude and warmth, the Military Police Command held a “Mother’s Day Appreciation Tea Gathering” yesterday to express appreciation for colleagues who are mothers, recognizing their long-standing selfless contributions to both their families and the nation. The event was hosted by Commander Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang. Military personnel, contracted employees, and hired employees who are mothers within the unit were invited to participate, creating a warm and moving atmosphere.

The event specially invited silkscreen creation instructors Chiu Yi-Lan and Lin Shih-Ting to lead a “Silkscreen DIY” hands-on experience. Participating colleagues created works with their own hands and completed unique pieces of their own, giving the event special commemorative and festive significance. In addition, everyone at the venue sang A Grateful Heart together, conveying heartfelt appreciation and warm wishes to all mothers, bringing the event to a warm and touching close. The venue was filled with a warm atmosphere.

Finally, Commander Cheng personally presented carnations one by one and extended early wishes of “Happy Mother’s Day” to all mothers. He stated that a mother’s love knows no day or night, just as the Military Police protects the nation year-round without rest. Mothers give silently and never complain of hardship, which inspires sincere admiration. He also encouraged officers and soldiers, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, to remember the kindness and care of those who raised them, internalize this affection as motivation to improve their core combat training duties, continue strengthening their professional competencies while demonstrating the spirit of loyalty, responsibility, and self-discipline. Through concrete actions, they can repay parental kindness, bringing distinction and honor to their mothers.
