Military Police Commander Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang visited the northern region to inspect units undergoing base training yesterday, providing guidance on the current status of base training and risk control. He encouraged unit commanders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the training objectives at each stage of base training, conduct after-action reviews based on the results of each stage, identify training gaps, and implement the requirement of “consistency between combat and training.”
Commander Cheng stated that operational plan evaluations primarily emphasize the use of joint operations thinking. Through “real sites, real troops, real equipment, and real situations,” units carry out various combat-oriented drills, establish realistic battlefield environments, strengthen the command and planning capabilities of cadres, enhance the ability of officers and soldiers to respond to contingencies in combat, thereby verifying the combat-oriented effectiveness of units.
Finally, Commander Cheng emphasized that training safety is the top priority. During summer training, units should strengthen prevention measures against heat injuries while ensuring proper hydration and first-aid preparedness. In addition, Commander Cheng also reminded cadres to closely monitor the mental state and emotional management of officers and soldiers. On the premise of ensuring safety, units should effectively employ their overall combat capability.
