Reported by Lin Ruei-Yi/ Summary report

Lieutenant General Cheng-Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command presided over a safety seminar yesterday, in which representatives from various units reported on their safety conditions and cases of guidance, and discussed the causes of the incidents and actions taken to handle them. Commander Cheng said that all cadres should fully utilize the organization of the establishment to understand the conditions of officers and soldiers, thereby effectively knowing their activities and preventing the occurrence of any safety incidents.

Commander Cheng emphasized that the Military Police is responsible for the protection of central government agencies and important military facilities, as well as special security duties, and that cadres at all levels should adhere to the principle of “Do not wrong the innocent, nor let the guilty escape, and keep the good and eliminate the bad,” assessing the safety conditions of officers and soldiers in a practical manner, and identifying, effectively grasping, and controlling security factors at an early stage, as well as adopting appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence of anomalies and to ensure the successful execution of missions. In addition, cadres at all levels should manage the troops based on laws and regulations, and educate colleagues who have made mistakes in the correct concepts by adopting an attitude of “teaching without discrimination”, giving them a chance to correct their mistakes, thus jointly safeguarding the troops’ combat effectiveness and morale.
