Lieutenant General Cheng-Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command, recently presided over the combat training and preparation meeting, which was attended by senior military officers, division (section) chiefs, leaders of first-level units, and all battalion (team) captains from the Military Police Command. The meeting began with a briefing on the “Guidelines for Security Investigation of Personnel Involved in Classified Information and Handling of Classified Information”, reminding that all personnel involved in classified information are required to complete security investigations in accordance with the classification of military secrets before they are allowed to engage in missions or duties, thereby conforming to the qualifications for accessing classified information. At the same time, when handling classified information, they must comply with the approved standard operating procedures and access management regulations for classified information, safeguarding the purity of personnel involved and ensuring the confidentiality and safety of classified information.
Commander Cheng delivered his guidance to the operation management staff after they had completed their work reports. He emphasized that meetings should not be conducted as mere formalities, instead, they should be meaningful and effective. Understanding the “nature of the problem” is an essential quality and responsibility of cadres at all levels. Only by understanding the crux of problems and the core of missions can they develop specific action plans and lead their troops to accomplish their missions.
Finally, Commander Cheng emphasized that cadres at all levels must focus on their training duties and follow the plans and regulations to implement the training in the garrisons (bases) and to build up the combat capabilities of the troops. He also reminded that “safety of troops” is fundamental to all training activities, and that cadres at all levels must improve risk management and control measures, implementing them to ensure the safety of the troops during training.
