Lieutenant General Cheng-Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command, presided over the “Tabletop Military Simulation of Garrison and Defensive Areas” at Zhongzhen Camp yesterday, and convened the senior officers of Military Police Command, division (section) chiefs, and the operational control of friendly units in the garrison areas to have a joint discussion. The meeting firstly conveyed the instructions on defense operations of the tabletop military simulation by Admiral Mei Chia-Shu, Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of China Armed Forces. Moreover, based on the results obtained from this military simulation, the joint warfare plan was revised to make it comprehensive and subsequently incorporated into the computerized military simulation and practical exercises for continuous verification, thereby responding effectively and appropriately to the actual needs of defense operations.
According to Commander Cheng, the purpose of this tabletop military simulation was to establish a common operational schema for key cadres at all levels, while requesting unit commanders to follow specific inferences and key actions, and to clearly define the objectives of the proposed operations and responsibility assignment matrices, thus making the logic, context, and procedures of mission execution consistent and laying a solid foundation for joint warfare.
Lastly, Commander Cheng pointed out that the annual Han Kuang Exercise is a valuable training opportunity for all officers and soldiers. He hoped that every cadre would adopt the mindset of “taking initiatives without hesitation” and incorporate the parameters obtained from the military simulation into various classified plans and program modifications, thus effectively enhancing the ability of executing joint warfare plans and laying a strong groundwork for strengthening the defense capabilities.
