Lieutenant General Cheng-Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command, received a delegation of Luis Raúl Estévez López, Ambassador of the Republic of Guatemala to the Republic of China (Taiwan), and military officials yesterday. By introducing the troops and discussing various topics, the delegation gained a better understanding of the essence of missions of the Military Police of Taiwan. It is hoped that through military exchanges, the bilateral ally relations will be strengthened, establishing a permanent mechanism of cooperation and deepening the military ties between the two countries.
Commander Cheng said that the Military Police upholds the principles of loyalty and chastity, and is determined to defend democratic values and the sovereignty of the country. In addition to strengthening the garrison's operational capabilities, they also assist the Judiciary in combating unlawful acts and curbing crime. He looked forward to deepening military exchanges between the two countries in the future, sharing experience in mission execution, and jointly nurturing military talents, thus building a strong and stable foundation for military cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Estévez recognized that the Republic of China (Taiwan) is Guatemala's most important diplomatic partner, as evidenced by the 90-year-long diplomatic ties between the two governments. He expressed his hope that the cooperation with the R.O.C. Military Police will be further consolidated in the future, and his wish that the friendship between the two countries will continue to be strengthened, working together to maintain regional peace, prosperity and development.
