Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Command, recently hosted the “2025 Military Training Workshop” and convened senior military officers, division (team) leaders, unit commanders, and non-commissioned officers to have discussions on the troops’military training plan, training effectiveness, training methods, improvement practices, and combat skills training, thus bringing the military training in line with the battlefield scenarios.
Commander Cheng pointed out that “setting goals and utilizing methods” are the basics of organizing training programs, and that cadres should establish collective consensus through the setting of objectives and management, thereby making training programs more comprehensive and complete through specific planning and execution. He also emphasized that “everything about combat capabilities comes from training”, and that the commanding officers at all levels are not only the commanders of the troops, but also the instructors of training and the evaluators of the troops' combat capabilities. Therefore, they should familiarize themselves with the test and assessment items, and give full play to their responsibilities in education and training, thereby building up cohesion among the officers and soldiers and laying a solid foundation for combat capabilities.
Finally, Commander Cheng reminded that with the coming of the Lunar New Year, all units should strengthen their internal management, mental counseling and risk control mechanisms to prevent negligence and inadvertence in training, operations and duties. He also urged cadres attending the meeting to demonstrate team spirit and work together to ensure that the mission is carried out smoothly, on time and in good quality, no matter whether it is in the areas of combat training, recruitment of military police or retention of military personnel for the future.
