Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Training Center, accompanied by Colonel Li, Commander of the Military Police Training Center, visited Anping Camp yesterday to inspect the practice of the combat casualty care training classes, checking items such as operation under enemy fire, hemorrhage control and triage of casualties, in order to understand the actual situation of the trainees' practice of combat casualty care.
Commander Cheng said that battlefield conditions are ever-changing, and it is necessary to strengthen the ability of officers and soldiers to help each other, and to implement basic life-saving treatments before casualties are sent to the hospital, thus gaining time for emergency evacuation of the casualties and increasing their survival rate on the battlefield. Moreover, it is imperative to establish a comprehensive combat injury treatment system in order to consolidate the overall medical capacity of the troops.
Lastly, Commander Cheng expressed his hope that upon returning to their units, those who have completed the training will be able to take on the role of expanding trainings and empowering others to transfer their professional skills in combat casualty care to all units, and to build up robust capacity in combat casualty care in response to future changes in the battlefield paradigm, thereby enhancing the battlefield care capability of the troops.
