Lt. Gen. Chen-Hsiang Cheng, Commander of the Military Police Command, recently presided over the "2024 Joint Work Seminar for Troop Operations." He emphasized that "the strongest fortress is breached from within," urging leaders at all levels to ensure internal management, soldier morale education, and confidentiality security. Proper use of organizational functions, implementation of supervision and verification, and a focus on combat training are necessary to enhance the overall combat capabilities of the military police units.
The seminar began with reports from department heads on the achievements of the year's policies and priorities for future work. Commander Cheng concluded with work directives to unify concepts across levels, ensuring that all policies are implemented at the grassroots level on time and with quality. Additionally, he reminded leaders to exhibit empathy, provide proper guidance for new personnel, and ensure thoughtful work assignments and planning. This approach aims to equip new personnel with the necessary tools and support, encouraging them to commit to long-term service in the force, thereby retaining talent for the future.
Commander Cheng further noted that troop management involves numerous aspects, urging leaders to adopt a "delegation of duties and hierarchical responsibility" approach. He stressed the importance of leadership, order execution, and treating personnel as family, offering proactive care. As the Lunar New Year approaches, leaders must practically enforce military discipline and road safety education. While on base, personnel must adhere to internal management and gender norms, and off base, they should know how to avoid risks and prevent incidents. This ensures all unit personnel possess a sense of honor and responsibility, working together to build a reliable combat capability to safeguard national security.
