Reported by Chen Yi-Hsuan/ Summary Report
Military Police Command hosted “the combat training and preparation meeting” yesterday. It was presided by Commander Lieutenant-General Cheng Chen-Hsiang. Senior duty officers, chief at each division (section), and main unit officers were invited for the meeting. Other than discussing important policies for recent combat preparation during the meeting, cadres were required to establish common operational pictures, strictly follow procedures, steps and guidelines to perform organizational functions, and solidify response ability of the troop in the combat through actual combat training, thereby enhancing the resilience of defensive combat.
The meeting started with a report from the warfare department on “important combat preparation concepts for military forces” to brief enemy threat information and the changes of modern war patterns to all the cadres participated in the meeting. According to Commander Cheng, in addition to continuously advancing the competence for the main duty, troops should also learn from the lessons of international and regional conflicts, carry revolutionary and innovative thinking styles to advance tactics and methods of operations, and verify plan feasibility through training to ensure the troop’s responsiveness to unexpected situations and cope with harsh threat from enemies.
In the end, Commander Cheng pointed out that internal management is the foundation to strengthen military duties. While officers and soldiers work hard for combat preparation, cadres must carry out management through established organization according to existing mechanisms and regulations. In addition, main commanders should also strengthen leadership and set themselves as examples for good management and teaching. During the training, teamwork must be developed to create cohesion to the unit as well as ensure reputation awareness and responsibility among officers and soldiers in order to lay a solid foundation for military tasks and establish reliable military capability for national security.
