Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, presided over a military simulation seminar on central defense operations yesterday, in which representatives from Taipei City's Department of Compulsory Military Service, the Police Department, the 3rd Combat Theater, and other operational units were invited to discuss the overall concept of central defense operations.
Commander Cheng pointed out that the purpose of this military simulation seminar is to review the current capabilities and limitations of individual units in a realistic manner, and to improve the formulation of the joint combat plan by making reference to the results of the annual exercises and training and by combining the overall strengths of the local government.
Commander Cheng also emphasized that the formulation of combat plans should be based on specific enemy threats, in close coordination with the 3rd Combat Theater, and through the local government by combining the overall efforts of the community and the mission attributes of the joint military services, to establish a unified mapping of the battlefield and a platform for joint operations, in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the joint combat operations in the garrison area.
