Commander Honors Soldier’s Act of Kindness and Hopes for Continued Expression of Benevolence

Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, recently commended Major Tien, Chief of Staff of the Taipei Military Police, for helping an elderly person who was not feeling well during his patrol around the camp and assisting the senior citizen in contacting his family members, who finally returned home safely. The senior citizen was very grateful and took the initiative to contact Major Tien through the Ministry of National Defense to express his appreciation for Tien's act of kindness. Commander Cheng noted that it is the duty of the military to protect the country and the citizens, and it is a virtuous practice of the R.O.C. Armed Forces to show their love and care for the people. Such enthusiasm for the well-being of the community without asking for any reward ishighly praiseworthy.

Commander Cheng emphasized his belief that every officer and soldier of the Military Police is doing good deeds for the society and silently contributing to spread their positive influence everywhere, thus spreading kindness and generating a virtuous cycle for the whole society.
