Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, hosted the “2024 Mid-Year Training and Combat Operational Training Seminar” yesterday, bringing together senior officers, division chiefs, unit commanders, and chief non-commissioned officers. The seminar centered on the training effectiveness, methods, and improvement of training and combat operation training of the troops. Commander Cheng emphasized that “there is no miracle in training, it is all about cumulative efforts”. He hoped that scientific and quantitative methods could be used to identify obstacles and major weaknesses in execution, thus optimizing the effectiveness of the overall training of the MilitaryPolice, and hence strengthening the troops’ combat capabilities.
Commander Cheng pointed out that “setting goals and making good use of strategies” should be the cornerstone of training planning. Cadres should establish team consensus through the management of indicators, and make training programs more comprehensive and complete through specific planning and execution. In addition, Commander Cheng also emphasized that “the plans of the chief officers are critical to the success or failure of the troops”. In addition to their role as the commanders of the troops, chief officers at all levels are also the instructors and evaluators of the training for the troops, and thus should be well versed in various assessment items, and should fulfill their responsibilities of education and training, thereby consolidating the morale of officers and soldiers and laying the solid foundation of the troops’ combat capabilities.
Lastly, Commander Cheng also reminded that as the Mid-Autumn Festival was approaching, all units should strengthen their internal management and utilize the mental support mechanism and risk control to avoid negligence in training, operations and work. He also urged the cadres to work as a team in the future in the areas of training, recruitment, and retention to ensure that all missions are carried out on time and in good quality.
