Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of the Military Police Command, presided over the “2024 Armed Forces Day Recognition Ceremony cum Promotion Ceremony of September” yesterday. He encouraged every officer and soldier to understand the origins of the “September 3 Armed Forces Day”, to remember the martyrs’ spirit of sacrificing their lives for the nation’s survival and to pass on the values of “Country, Responsibility, and Honor”, conducting constant combat training and building up the Military Police into an elite force to fulfil the mission of safeguarding national security.
Commander Cheng first recognized the dedication and commitment of the award-winning officers and units, which had excelled in various assessments and competitions. He encouraged fellow officers and soldiers to uphold the work attitude of “fulfilling one’s duties in one’s position” and continue to strive for honor for the Military Police. In addition, he also urged those who have been promoted to the next level to continue to strive for excellence and to spread the positive vibes among their unitsby being proactive and enterprising, thus building up the morale of the troops and leading progress of the Military Police as a whole.
Commander Cheng emphasized that recently the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been adopting a “multi-directional and multi-channel” infiltration approach against Taiwan, constantly spying and collecting national defense secrets. As a role model of the three armed forces and a member of the judicial police, the Military Police should have higher ethical standards and a higher level of confidentiality, thereby preventing the enemy from exploiting the situation. Lastly, Commander Cheng urged all officers and soldiers to uphold the excellent military culture, carry forward the spirit of loyalty and chastity of the Military Police, and perform their duties diligently in combat trainings, together safeguarding the security of the nation’s central administration
