Commanders Preside Over Training and Preparation Meeting, Expects Enhancement of Defensive Capabilities

Lieutenant General Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command, presided over the January Training and Preparation Meeting yesterday and convened senior officers, division (group) chiefs, and key cadres of all units to attend the meeting.During the meeting, Commander Cheng encouraged cadres at all levels to “train with the knowledge about the enemy”, to cultivate a clear mindset and to make full use of the organizational structure, thereby knowing the enemy and knowing themselves, staying on top of the battlefield, and leading the troops to accomplish various missions.

Constructing a Superior Force and Living Up to Military Virtues

Commander Cheng pointed out that soldiers will soon be assigned to the Military Police for the 1-year compulsory military service, and each unit must complete the inspection of equipment such as uniforms, managerial items, weapons and ammunition in advance, and strive to improve the training of instructors, training grounds, and various facilities, etc., so as to enhance the skills of the soldiers to adapt to the future battlefield, and to strengthen the national defense capabilities through actual combat oriented training.

Finally, Commander Cheng emphasized that “military virtue” is the foundation of military service. In addition to living up to the military virtues of “wisdom, faith, benevolence, courage, and discipline,” commanders at all levels should take a “pragmatic and self-disciplined” attitude in carrying out the practical work of their units and give their subordinates practical and appropriate guidance, following “procedures, steps, and guidelines” in all matters, and making efforts to carry out combat training and preparation work, constructing a high-quality military police team, and making all-out efforts to serve as a solid backing for the citizens and safeguard national security.
