Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command,presided over the weekly operational meeting yesterday, convening senior officers, division (group) chiefs, and important cadres of each unit. Commander Cheng said during the meeting that the chief officers of all ranks should promote combat readiness training in a pragmatic manner on a consistent basis.By "living together, working together, fighting together, and winning together" with officers and soldiers, they would be able to gain a deeper understanding of the actual needs of officers and soldiers,as well as be able to provide timely assistance and guidance, thereby effectively progressing the practical operations of the troops.'
Commander Cheng pointed out that staff units at all levels should establish an effective supervisory mechanism to proactively identify obstacles to the operation of the troops, the effectiveness of training assessment and elimination of potential security risks; the supervisory team should also carefully complete the schedule planning and integration of manpower so as to avoid creating excessive burdens on units at the basic level, which in turn affects the training and routine of the troops.
Safeguarding Honor and Adhering to Military Discipline
Finally, Commander Cheng emphasized that internal management and military discipline are the basis for stable operation of the troops. Cadres at all levels should strengthen the education of loyalty and chastity, requiring officers and soldiers to abide by the rules of the barracks and military law and discipline. Furthermore, one should be proud of being a member of the Military Police, who "upholds honor and observes discipline", and to jointly pass on the good traditions in order to carry forward the virtue of plum determination and honesty.
