Commander Presents Legal Advisor Appointment to Protect Rights of Officers and Soldiers

Lieutenant General Cheng Chen-Hsiang, Commander of Military Police Command, presided over the Legal Advisor Appointment Ceremony yesterday and expressed his gratitude to Mr. Hu Yuan-Long, a lawyer from Yuan-Rong Law Firm, for being appointed as the Legal Advisor of the Military Police Command, and he will provide legal advice to officers and soldiers based on his professionalism in order to effectively safeguard the lawful rights and interests of officers and soldiers while alsoensuring lawful administrative actions.

Improving Knowledge and Skills for Duty and Enhancing Legal Literacy for Officers and Soldiers

Commander Cheng pointed out that Hu Yuan-Long possesses a complete set of education and experience. Specifically, he has a PhD from the Department of Crime Prevention and Corrections of the Central Police University.Before he became a lawyer, he had served as the chief prosecutor of the Taipei, Taoyuan, and Hsinchu District Prosecutor's Offices for many years, and during that time he had also been seconded to the Mainland Affairs Council as the deputy director of the Legal Affairs Department, which gave him a wealth of practical experience. Moreover, he had also commanded the Military Police in the detection of various crimes on numerous occasions, which gave him a deep connection with the Military Police.

In addition, Commander Cheng encouraged the cadres that the Military Police, in their capacity as Judicial Police Officers, should continue to improve themselves, cultivate their academic skills and enhance their legal literacy so as to carry out their legal duties in compliance with proper procedures.
