Commander Hosted the Training Completion/Inauguration Ceremony of the Reserves, Encouraging the Passing Down of the Military Values of Loyalty and Integrity

Reported by Hung Tzu-Yang / Summary Report

Commander of Military Police Lieutenant General Chou Kuang-Chi hosted the Training Completion/Inauguration Ceremony of the Class 50 Reserves, awarding each promoted personnel with sergeant epaulette to encourage these newly-appointed officers to be proud of being a military police officer. Commander Chou reminded each officer to never forget why they joined the military in the first place, emphasizing that they should set their life goals, to continuously improve upon their skillsets fitting for their duties so as to achieve further promotion, which shall enable them to experience the fruits of their labor.

Commander Chou indicated that the epaulette on their shoulders, specifically the new position they are awarded with, represents both honor and responsibility. As an officer, one should be courageous to take on every task, be brave in tackling challenges and participate in every mission, as well as never to become passive or negative just because one is scared of making a mistake. Additionally, one should actively uncover, reflect and solve all issues within the unit as well as helm the responsibility of serving as a bridge between officers and cadres. Furthermore, one must secure its position as a leader to guide the cadres to complete every mission, thereby elevating the cohesiveness and the unity of the unit as a whole.

In the end, Commander Chou emphasized that over 100 years have passed since the establishment of the military police in 1923, reminding subordinates to be thankful of the selfless sacrifices that made by the predecessors, as well as stressing that all should continue on with the military values of loyalty and integrity. Additionally, one shall remain self-disciplined to uphold one’s personal just morals and ethics, to strictly adhere to all military discipline and requirements, as well as to fully exert the linkage of the established organizations by reminding and restricting one another so as to not conduct any unjust deeds, which shall in turn solidifying the combat strength of the troops, while also allows for the passing down of the military values of loyalty and integrity.
