Reported by Hung Tzu-Yang/ Summary report

To comfort and encourage the performance of military police in guarding security in the central office area over so many years, Secretary-General to the President, Lee Da-Wei, and the Director of Third Bureau of Office of the President, Chiu Kao-Wei, were accompanied by Commander of Military Police Command, Lieutenant General Chou Kuang-Chi, and Commander of 202 Command, Major General Chen, yesterday to carry out Chinese New Year greetings in Military Police Battalion 211 on behalf of President, Tsai Ing-Wen. They wished all the officers and soldiers a happy Chinese New Year in advance and offered additional group meal bonus to appreciate their devotion and hardworking.

During the greetings, Secretary-General Lee had a photo with New Year’s Day flag bearers, Petty Officer Liu and Private 1st Class Hung to recognize the excellent performance from the personnel executing the task. In addition, he reminded everyone there is no holiday for national security. During Chinese New Year, each unit will have to carry out tighter security duty. He expected officers and soldiers to hold the belief of “going on sentry is going to battlefield”. Everyone should maintain highly alerted, bring out what learnt in daily training, and handle abnormality and unexpected events properly in order to ensure the security in the surrounding area of the Office of the President.
